Programs in family studies and consumer sciences focus on basic human developmental and behavioral characteristics of the individual within the context of the family as well as the phenomena that exist around the trading of consumer goods and services. Subtopics include: work and family studies, family, human and consumer sciences as well as business family sciences. It includes instruction in the conditions that influence human growth and development; strategies that promote growth and development across the life span; and the study of family systems.
